I have bought the following drive "ASUS SBW-06D5H-U" and are able to rip my BluRay discs at a slow 2x speed. The drive is supposed to support 6x for BluRay but RipLock apparent invalidates that for no reason. Looking into it i've found this thread and tried reading up.

MakeMKV says:
Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D5H-U
Revision: E102
Serial number: xxx
Firmware date: 2023-04-20
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 40

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8511
Firmware version: ID26

I see this in the currently supported list:
"ASUS-SBW-06D5H-U-E101-3F03CED5-8511ID26-20180822"

Questions:
- Does that mean Mike have to update the list to support this new version or is it required that my drive get a firmware downgrade?
- Some replies indicate an update to the program and others that it can be flashed or is that only if you want UHD support?

Pretty sure your out of luck on that one you may be able to change the speed but fw is to new to do UHD and can't be flashed at all.

All my cds are straight DVD or BluRay, no 4k at all, i just want to be able to do it faster so as not to waste this much time. So will it (maybe?) be possible to get higher speeds if MakeMKV gets updated or is a flash required?

Yeah, i tried setting 0=99 on my drive, but that did not change anything at all. So i'm guessing i'm stuck with this speed or have to buy another at some points. How disappointing!

Hi! I am a new user.
I have a drive (verbatim 71097) that I bought in amazon about 1 to 2 years ago.
I just found this page an noticed that the drive was actually manufactured by pioneer.
So I want to know if the hardware is UHD compatible or not.

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr0
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
Revision: 1.14
Serial number: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Firmware date: 2020-06-15
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 78

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8511
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.14
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
I am a linux user with no Windows machine on hand. It would be great if the flashing process can be done on linux.
Thank you very much for your work and help!

But then how will I pad my post count? :D
At the very least this is another confirmation that as of February 2025 the BDR-212DBK listed on Amazon has a chance to be shipped with old enough firmware.
The manufacture date is September 2023.
