I have bought the following drive "ASUS SBW-06D5H-U" and are able to rip my BluRay discs at a slow 2x speed. The drive is supposed to support 6x for BluRay but RipLock apparent invalidates that for no reason. Looking into it i've found this thread and tried reading up.

- Some replies indicate an update to the program and others that it can be flashed or is that only if you want UHD support?

Pretty sure your out of luck on that one you may be able to change the speed but fw is to new to do UHD and can't be flashed at all.

All my cds are straight DVD or BluRay, no 4k at all, i just want to be able to do it faster so as not to waste this much time. So will it (maybe?) be possible to get higher speeds if MakeMKV gets updated or is a flash required?

Yeah, i tried setting 0=99 on my drive, but that did not change anything at all. So i'm guessing i'm stuck with this speed or have to buy another at some points. How disappointing!

But then how will I pad my post count?
At the very least this is another confirmation that as of February 2025 the BDR-212DBK listed on Amazon has a chance to be shipped with old enough firmware.
The manufacture date is September 2023.
