Possible, not yet enabled

Kind of wondering why you're asking? Or are you thinking that the program would say this if the author had no intention of following through?

Just a fwi don't flash that drive it won't enable libredrive and won't make it uhd friendly it will just make it read no disks

Now there is one more option available. You can flash 3.01 MK firmware. It won't do magic and make your drive UHD compatible (hardware is not there) but it will make your drive LibreDrive compatible - meaning you will read any BD or DVD disc forever and won't worry about AACS revocations or bus encryption.

Hi Mike

I have this drive too, just wondered if there's any kind of timeline when unrestricted read speed will be implemented please? Or is it just a case of it'll be done when it done?

Thanks for this amazing programme.

Hello guys,
just fyi, I have the BC-12D2HT and I'm perfectly able to use MakeMKV in combination with this drive to save my UHD Blu Ray disk to my NAS.

So, I'm kinda curious why everyone says that the drive isn't able to - in fact it was even before I flashed that LibreDrive firmware onto it.

Or am I missing something?

I believe there are two versions of this drive? Mine is a 2016 model and it reads UHD discs as the factory firmware is friendly, I keep this one in reserve in case my daily driver Asus ever gives up. but think there is an older version with no UHD capability?

Hi,

can anyone dump the firmware for the old "not patchable yet" version of ASUS BC-12D2HT?

That is, the drive Tntdruid listed the MakeMKV output from:
Product: BC-12D2HT
Drive platform: MT1939
Firmware version: 1.00
Firmware date: 2113-06-14 12:00

I was stupid and did not read all forum threads about BC-12D2HT and upgraded it to 3.01,
and now it just opens and closes fine, but will not read anything.

Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BC-12D2HT
Revision: 3.01
Serial number: SIK9OXXXXXXX
Firmware date: 2117-11-15 19:26
Bus encryption flags: 1E

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 3.01
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Possible, not yet enabled

If someone can dump the original 1.00 fw for it, I will try to downgrade.

Thanks

Try BH16NS58 with qpxtools. Optidrive is buggy anyway.
