Hi,

I have the same drive and situation as Asian wolf. I just got my drive from Amazon yesterday and I can read blu-rays just fine but not UHD.

MakeMKV is connected to the internet and I have been using it also for many years with DVD/Blu-rays no problem.

Replying so I can see any updates. Thanks in advanced for the support.
Best thing to do is return it and buy a preflashed one from a seller in your region

I wish that was an option for me, but I bought my drive back in May based on the recommendation from another site. I didn't find out about this site until I eventually got around to trying it out this month.

I had to send my BDR-XS07UHD in for service as the drive stopped functioning after only 8 months. I hadn't heard about the new Pioneer firmware issue until the last few days. I just got the drive back today and it has the dreaded 1.03 firmware so I'm dead in the water now I guess. Pretty bummed. I hope there's a solution soon, otherwise I'll be buying a new drive.

It worries me that they haven't found a solution by now.

It's been pretty quiet from them about this.

I had bought a second BDR-S13UBK and it came with a newer firmware. Strongly considering returning it unless we know reasonably sure there will be a fix in the future. It is unopened and unused to I am not screwing over the merchant.

Yeah I'm in the same boat Krawk. I bought a new Pioneer blu ray drive. I don't want to screw over the merchant and return it since it's honestly perfectly good. I would love to know if they had a rough estimate on if they will be able to get a fix and if so around when.

Hello everyone.
I own a Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD which had the FW suitable for acquiring UHD BRDs but which I, very intelligently, updated to the latest version... (I wasn't aware of the problem, I discovered it a few days ago)

I retrieved the link to the FWs prior to 1.03 from the Pioneer website, and downloaded them, but I wonder: is it that simple to downgrade the FW? Maybe I'm paranoid but... has anyone tried?

I don't want to make the player completely unusable, since I'm also backing up my non-UHD BRDs...

Thanks in advance!!!
Marco

You are out of luck until there is a solution.

Yes... I imagined: therefore (as I feared) it is impossible to downgrade the FW...
I really was an idiot... My fault.

It is possible, you only have to wait patiently.
