Hello, I am looking to purchase BDR-XD08MB-S from Amazon JP. May I know if this drive is now LibreDrive supported and able to rip UHD disc?

Thanks in advance.

It should be. If not currently, it would be easy for Mike to add support.
Cheers :D

Has anybody tried a BDR-X13U-S (or any of their more recent drives) with firmware 1.02? There's an update available here: https://pioneer.jp/device_e/product-e/i ... #firmware1 but I don't want to upgrade my 1.01 drive and find out it's a problem, since you apparently cannot downgrade afterwards.
I just did and it did NOT work! :?

It does. But it failed to rip a UHD disc with some errors (same disc I was able to rip with the previous firmware). That said, non-UHD discs worked just fine.

I take that back. UHD discs worked after restarting MakeMKV. So weird... Maybe it needed to download the latest SDF again? I will keep testing but every type of disc seems to be working now with the new firmware.

After flashing you need to power-cycle your drive. Meaning turn your PC off and then on again. Most likely that hadn't happened in between trying.

I am trying to decide to purchase BDR-XD08UMB-S directly from Pioneer USA to rip my 4K collections. But reading here on the forums, I am not sure if this drive is confirmed to work with MakeMKV with or without any firmware updates. Can someone on this forum confirm if they are able to rip 4K-UHD movies using this drive?

The XD08U 1.00 firmware is supported by Makemkv. If you drive comes with a newer firmware it will be couple of days after submitting the report Makemkv generates for your drive and submitting that.

I noticed some are selling Pioneer BDR-212EBK cross flashed to BDR-S12UHT to make it UHD friendly.
Is there guide availabe for to do it myself as I could not find one? I have such drive lying around and I would like to try.
