Libredrive version v6
Re: Libredrive version v6
Especially on triple layer discs. I turn speed control off for triple layer UHD. It just isn't reliable enough on those discs. They are notoriously irritating to begin with, so, trying to read them faster is not especially helpful. I sometimes slow them down if they give me too much trouble.
Re: Libredrive version v6
Is the speed control setting coming to the GUI soon?

Interesting. Anyone else experienced this?MartyMcNuts wrote:
Yes, it is more likely to happen.

Unsure. Mike intentionally didn't put it in the GUI because I think he wants more testing of the feature. It works but as has been discussed, it can put more wear and tear on the drive if you overdo it. I've got 3 drives (2 ns60 1.00 and one asus bw-16d1ht flashed to ns60 1.00) and I have 0=99;u3=0 set on all 3 of them. That seems to work well for me, but, your mileage may vary. For now, I don't think this feature is quite mainstreamed yet.
Re: Libredrive version v6
Thank you. The first time I read the instructions I didn't fully understand how to edit the settings. A further reading has fixed that so I'm happy to give it a try.SamuriHL wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 3:07 amUnsure. Also good to know that there are no drive speed commands sent to the drive if the settings are blank/missing which means that my drive is currently doing its own thing and presumably not being overworked.

I had a BD explode into a million pieces. Took an hour to clean the drive. It's not as reliable as before, not sure if it was the optical grenade or the full throttle.

You’re fond of referencing that story.midnighwatcher wrote:I had a BD explode into a million pieces. Took an hour to clean the drive. It's not as reliable as before, not sure if it was the optical grenade or the full throttle.

Mike,
I have an old BD-RE WH14NS40/MT1939 drive that I noticed LibreDrive was enabled with the recent update. I want to thank you for your effort to bring this capability to an older drive like this.
Thanks for your continued efforts!
