This is my PC's configuration..probably can ignore the RAM part .. yes this is an old pc I built-in 2014 or 2015.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 8:25 amwhat is your cpu gpu and display?
i think its because your pc does not support h.265 decoding
it is true you need a specific cpu and motherboard for official UHD playback in powerdvdadnaanusa wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 8:24 ami saw somewhere to use UHD drive in pc even the pc needs to be updated to a certain intel generation processor or the motherboard... not sure if that is true..
Anyway, I am not liking this.. i got 4k UHD player but don't like how the sound is staged from my receiver to the speakers .. is there a way to move the drive back to its firmware I am thinking to just return this drive.. not sure yet will try few things with vlc and see if I can get a smooth picture with a proper lip/dialog sync ..
Thanks
Thanks Billy for your input again, appreciate it
so my only option is to upgrade my pc seems like.. is it the entire pc from the motherboard to the processor to GPU and ram too? or just a GPU upgrade can let me play the 4k UHD discs smoothly?
Can I get the WH14NS40 back to the firmware it came with initially before I downgraded it? if so which file should I use to get it back to 1.05.
Edit 1:

I just found this
Of course the GTX 770 can not decode HEVC/H. 265 (which are often used for UHD), but H. 264 UHD should work fine: Like chummy02 said: frame rates matter
Edit 2:
