trying to digitize my DVD movie I can't seem to not have the directors narrative. When I play it on my player i have the choice of scenes, special features, and movie but after digitizing with MKV, all i get it the narrative throughout the movie... is there a fix or what

It is most likely that you have "save the best audio" enabled, and the director's audio is 5.1 or better, with stereo for the main audio. This is why I configure MakeMKV to rip ALL tracks, and figure things out with handbrake later.
