Agreed. A very nice program. That's why it's a bummer I can't purchase a registration key. Maybe soon.

Looking at Mikes posts looks like he comes in once a week and he is due to come back in the next few days based on his last post.

My hopes, also. He's been pretty silent. Anybody close to him that can give us an update? Details not necessary. Just want to know he's ok.

Is it typical for the “Last active:” time stamp field under Mike’s account to read simply “-“? I found that a bit odd/concerning.

Interesting. Don't know where you're going, but everything I click on just sends me to a Russian-language page I can't read. Thankfully, my key is good until the end of May. You must be using a link outside the ones provided in the Makemkv app help menu.
Same here. I'm re-directed to a Russian website also. ???

That Russian website is a page from the host saying that the account is suspended.

Nevertheless, I just checked and makemkv.com seemed to be up, again.

You're right. Just checked it and the site's back up. The purchasing option is still not available, but the beta key is there.

I wonder why not available for purchase. I purchased years ago and love this program. I imagine many other would gladly purchase to help support the product.

Mike said there's some technical problem that's being worked on, but hasn't elaborated further.

The site was up for a couple of days, but now it looks like it's down again. I tried getting on this morning and got the following:

Proxy Error
The proxy server could not handle the request

Reason: Error during SSL Handshake with remote server

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Just to make sure it wasn't on my end I tried several different sites for other software I own and everyone is working fine. Looks like Mike's site provider is having some type of problem.

Posted this in one of the other threads, but if you still need access to the windows installer the link from here works (unfortunately not the OSX one though) https://web.archive.org/web/20210331174 ... /download/

At least this error seems purely technical. The last time the site was down was a matter of policy at the ISP. Hopefully whatever the fault is at the moment can be fixed quickly.
