I don't think Mike was very precise because there really isn't one topic here that explains what to do.

The key is that the copy has to have completed without errors - If some files do not copy, this method generally will fail, too.

But Its says nothing in the http://www.makemkv.com/errors/read/ to copy it as an Image (ISO) just "to copy all files from the disc to the hard drive manually"

Procedure, though, is the same - the important part is that the discatt file be present, so that MakeMKV has the decryption information.
