BDR-209M With Drive Plat RS8F00

I'm unsure if this External Buffalo drive can read UHD, I'm brand new in this space and have been following the guides, but I want to make sure everything will work, from googling i've seen people with this drive saying it works but I'm not to sure what to do, the guide says to make sure the driver plat is MT1959 and mine is not so does that mean I cant read UHD?
