Hallo Forum,
ich hoffe hier auf hilfe.

Ich habe das Verbatim 43888 gekauft, verbaut ist dort ein LG BU40N.
Ich habe es ohne Probleme mit dem SDFtool Flasher auf Firmware 1.00 flashen.

Nur musste ich ein defekt des Laufwerk feststellen.
Also habe ich die Original Firmware von LG Version 1.05 geladen und habe versucht diese zu flashen.
Nur jetzt ist das Laufwerk im BOOT wenn ich jetzt die Original LG Firmware 1.05 starte steht dort bei SVC Code NS50 anstatt BU40.

Starte ich den SDFtool Flasher sagt dieser das ist keine MT1959 Platform ist.

Gibt es irgendwie eine Möglichkeit das Laufwerk wieder auf 1.05 zu flashen damit ich das Laufwerk wieder umtauschen kann?

Entschuldigt bitte, ich kann kein English und kann mir hier nur mit einem Übersetzter helfen.

Hello forum,

I'm hoping for some help here.

I bought the Verbatim 43888, which has an LG BU40N drive installed.

I flashed it to firmware 1.00 using the SDFtool Flasher without any problems.

However, I discovered a defect in the drive.

So I downloaded the original LG firmware version 1.05 and tried to flash it.

But now the drive is in BOOT mode. When I start the original LG firmware 1.05, the SVC code shows NS50 instead of BU40.

When I start the SDFtool Flasher, it says it's not an MT1959 platform.

Is there any way to flash the drive back to version 1.05 so I can exchange it?

Please excuse my language skills; I don't speak English and can only use a translator.

You flashed a firmware for internal drives to your external drive. Never do this, check also the flashing guide.

Try the recovery mode of the SDFTool.

First select the incorrectly flashed firmware, and then select the correct firmware in the second dropdown menue.

leider kann ich nur Lesen und Schreiben auswählen.
Recovery Mode bleibt angeraut, egal welche Firmware ob 1.00, 1.03 MK ich auswähle des BU40N.

Eventuell noch eine Idee?

Hi zittrig,

Unfortunately, I can only select read and write.

Recovery Mode remains grayed out, regardless of which firmware I select for the BU40N, whether it's 1.00 or 1.03 MK.

Any other ideas?

You can also try the modified ASUS flasher which you can find here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634%5B//url

If nothing works, your drive is bricked, I think.

Das hat leider auch nicht geklappt.
Der erste Link war leider die Firmware vom 24x DVD Brenner DVDRAM_GH24NSD5__LJ01 selbst wenn man bei LG auf dem Downloadlink für den Auto Flasher geht, wird nur eine Firmware für einen 24x DVD Brenner DVDRAM_GH24NSD5__LJ01 geladen.
Und auch die anderen beiden haben nicht zum gewünschten Erfolg gebracht.

Dann habe ich noch aus anderen Seiten folgendes gefunden und durchgeführt nur leider obwohl die Meldung erscheint Erfolgreich abgeschlossen bleibt das Laufwerk im Bott.

Folgendes habe ich gemacht und durchgeführt:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV>makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d I: -t mtk19xx rawflash -i "DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin"

The first link was for the firmware of the 24x DVD burner DVDRAM_GH24NSD5__LJ01. Even when I went to the LG download link for the Auto Flasher, it only downloaded firmware for a 24x DVD burner DVDRAM_GH24NSD5__LJ01.

And the other two links didn't work either.

You cannot restore it from BOOT using MakeMKV's sdftool. You should use the original LG BU40N 1.05 firmware flasher. viewtopic.php?p=196053#p196053

genau das ist mein Problem.
Das Laufwerk wird zwar bei Windows im Geräte Manager als LG BU40N angezeigt.
Bei Dieser PC findet man es als DVD/CD RW Laufwerk.
Und beim Flashprogram steht unter SVC code: NS50 anstatt BU40
Beim SDFtool wird jetzt angezeigt es handelt sich nicht um die MT1959 Platform.

Vielleicht hilft die Bildschirmaufnahme, die zwei Screenshots.

The drive is displayed in Windows Device Manager as LG BU40N.

Under This PC, it's listed as a DVD/CD RW drive.

And the Flash program shows NS50 under SVC code instead of BU40. SDFtool now indicates that it's not the MT1959 platform.

Perhaps the screenshots will help.

Ah, I see. I don't know how you managed to flash NS50 desktop firmware on to the drive! Anyway, try the older modified ASUS flasher. This ignores most checks and just might flash the BU40N firmware to the drive. zittrig linked to it a few posts back...

also auch das mit dem Asus Flasher funktioniert nicht.

Ich möchte aber klarstellen das ich keine Desktop Firmware geflasht habe.

Ich habe das Laufwerk von Firmware 1.05 auf 1.00 mit dem SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.6) geflasht.

Leider musste ich feststellen das Laufwerk hat ein defekt, es frierte mitten im Betrieb ein, beim Lesen und Brennen von CD oder DVD.

Eine Blu Ray habe ich dann erst garnicht versucht zu lesen oder zu brennen.

Dann habe ich die Original Firmware 1.05 von der LG Seite geladen und mit dieser geflasht, versucht zu Flaschen.

Dieser Flash ist schief gelaufen, bei 48% blieb der Flash stehen geblieben, ich habe gut 12 Minuten gewartet und nichts ging.

Und das Ergebnis ist jetzt was man sehen kann.

So, the Asus Flasher didn't work either.

I want to clarify that I didn't flash a desktop firmware.

I flashed the drive from firmware 1.05 to 1.00 using the SDFtool Flasher (v1.3.6).

Unfortunately, I discovered the drive is defective; it freezes mid-operation while reading and burning CDs or DVDs.

I didn't even try reading or burning a Blu-ray.

Then I downloaded the original firmware 1.05 from the LG website and tried flashing it.

This flash went wrong; it stopped at 48%. I waited for a good 12 minutes, and nothing happened.

And the result is what you can see.

The SVC code "NS50" points out to a wrong firmware. Some LG desktop drives has this or some external LG DVD drives.

But that doesn't matter anymore.

I think your drive is bricked finally when no of the flashing tools can change something.

I've no further idea, I'm sorry. Perhaps Marty, Billy or Coopervid can give more advice?

Just try to return it as is. It was defective in the first place and you should not have flashed it therefore. If you are lucky you will still get your money back.
