I ripped 4 movies last night and had 2 more to do today. Before starting today, I updated the firmware to 1.18.3. And haven't been able to do anything with it. I either get the message that "this program can't find any usable optical drives" or it finally works and then it stops mid-rip and gives an error about not having enough power supplied. Neither has happened before.
Using the Verbatim (Pioneer UD03)
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: No usable optical drives
Check windows setting for USB selective suspending disable that
And use a higher power USB port or get powered USB hub
If you want your ud03 to do UHD email me the drive info see below for that

Re: No usable optical drives
Hey thanks for the response, it's a MacBook Pro. Coopervid did the UHD flash for me over a month ago. Everything has been fine until I did the firmware update this morning, so I didn't know if that may have disrupted something. Can I unflash and reflash?

What firmware update did you do this morning?

Re: No usable optical drives
Ah, you mean you updated your MakeMKV software version? If so, just go back to the older verion.
There is nothing wrong with your drive and you should not flash it again.

Re: No usable optical drives
I installed 1.18.2 and still getting the http://www.makemkv.com/errors/ipc/ error. The drive has a 15 watt wall plug that I have used for the last month without getting that low power error. It only presented today after the 1.18.3 firmware update. I have restarted computer several times and no luck. It's looking like I may have to purchase another drive, which is terrible bc I have only had this one for a little over a month.

Re: No usable optical drives
Wall plug or cable could be faulty. Can you try a different cable or try the drive on a different PC to help rule things out? Laptops/Macbooks are terrible at powering optical drives. Best to use an AC self-powered hub of at least 24w (30w+ is better!)Badboyztn wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 3:38 amI installed 1.18.2 and still getting the http://www.makemkv.com/errors/ipc/ error.
