Crossflashing BDR-X12EBK from 2021?

I was wondering whether it is possible to crossflash a Pioneer BDR-X12EBK that was manufactured in 2021.

In the main thread it says that lately Pioneers can't be crossflashed anymore, but since this is a used one from 2021 would I have a chance that it comes with an earlier firmware that can be crossflashed?

Would it be worth the risk to buy this used?
