Hello,
I purchased a Verbatim Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray player with the model code KIAB and serial number 43888. When I launch MakeMkv (v1.18.3 [win(x64-release]]), it gives me the following information:
Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.05
Serial number: ***
Firmware date: 2124-04-23 13:47
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 76
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Should I flash it?
How can I flash it without causing an irreversible error ?
For your information, I put a Blu-ray in the drive, and after playing it with MakeMkv, I get the following error:
Code: Select all
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT' occurred while issuing SCSI command A40..002000800 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0'
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0'
Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\ERIC/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v76_Elvis_E891.tgz
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Failed to open disc
Thank you for your help

You need to flash it to BU40N 1.03-MK to enable libredrive. Just do it. It's extremely easy.

Thank you.
Is there a risk that I could render the player unusable if it malfunctions?
If so, can I revert to version 1.05?
Is this procedure on this site suitable?
https://github.com/nxyzo/Flashing-Verba ... -to-1.03MK
Can I use the file it provides?
Thank you.

To revert it you can use the official LG flasher.

I'm continuing my search for how to flash my player. The forum is very comprehensive, but I'm having trouble finding what I need.
I'm looking for the file I need to flash my player.
But I can't find it anywhere on the forum.
If I understand correctly, then I just need to do it like this.
- Close MakeMKV
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
Navigate to the MakeMKV installation directory:
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV"
Execute the firmware flashing command:
makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d X: rawflash enc -i "PATH_TO_FIRMWARE_FILE"
(Replace X: with your optical drive letter and PATH_TO_FIRMWARE_FILE with the full path to the .bin file)
Please tell me if this is correct and correct me if I'm wrong.
As a reminder, here's the information provided by MakeMKV. .
Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
