LG BP60NB10 fails to read most standard Blu-rays; UHD works fine

Hi all,
I'm reaching out for community advice regarding a persistent issue I've encountered with my LG BP60NB10 drive.
My setup:
Firmware: UHD-friendly 1.02 (flashed successfully)
MakeMKV version: 1.16.4 (using this older version because the latest MakeMKV won't install properly on my system)
MakeMKV shows;
Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom1
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BP60NB10
Revision: 1.02
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2120-05-07 09:35
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 76
LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

My main use case is ripping UHD Blu-rays, which works almost perfectly—4K discs are detected, opened, and ripped without problems. However, my issue is with most standard (non-UHD) Blu-ray discs, those containing special features and bonus content.
On almost all regular Blu-rays, MakeMKV just displays a "reading" message for several minutes and then fails to actually read or open the disc properly. Only a very small number of standard Blu-rays seem to work.
Does anyone know:
Is this a known issue with the BP60NB10 (UHD friendly 1.02) drive?
Is the firmware or MakeMKV version likely to be the cause?
Are there any settings, software tricks, or additional troubleshooting steps that could help with reading regular Blu-rays for extras?
Should I consider a different drive just for standard Blu-rays, or is there a reliable workaround?
Thanks for any experience or advice! My primary concern is successfully ripping bonus content from my regular Blu-ray discs, since UHD main features are working perfectly.
