BDR-XS07S power supply options?

I managed to get a BDR-XS07S and it seems to be old enough that this will work. The problem I am having is that my laptop doesn't push enough power, so I need an external power supply. It looks like a rather generic power supply should work - class 2 AC, UL listed, output of 5V, minimum of 1 amp. I read a few posts on here (a bunch, but I digress) and it seems that some adapters have different tip sizes. I am assuming that as long as the adapter is providing power, I will be okay. But I do NOT want to set my house on fire. Can anyone confirm that the tip is not as important as the power flowing? Thanks in advance.

The tip needs to be the correct diameter or it won't work since it won't make a proper connection. Amazon has lots of power supplies with multiple tips. Something like this for example:

Thanks. I will give that a try. I tried this one and I found a pin that fit, but it would not power up the burner. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087ZX6WMG I still have a few weeks left on the return window for that, so I want to figure out soon if it works or not.

Did you also have the drive plugged into your computer? I have some external hard drives that won't power on until they're connected to a computer even when they have a separate power supply.

Good question and yes. I was hoping the USB port would provide enough power and it did not. So I'm trying the external power supply.
