Hi,
I found a brand new Pioneer BDR-S13C-X from a reseller on Aliexpress (all sold out on Asmcom unfortunately), but the manufacturing date is January 2023.
Is there a chance the F/W version can still be 1.03 ?
They sent me a picture of the label from the warehouse, but can't plug the drive to check the version.

Post your Makemkv info. If firmware is equal / newer than 12/2022 you have to wait for a fix by mike.

dont support the scalpers on ali express i will have pioneers end of September for much less than $520-$700 they are charging and they dont even guarantee the fw mine are guaranteed to have fw that works for UHD

I didn't buy it, I was just "eventually considering" doing so, but wanted more information before.

I contacted with a Taobao seller for BDR-S13C-X, the date in the box is 2023/Jan, but seller confirmed the firmware version is 1.03 and show me the capture photo, so I order one and wait to prize draw, if louck is 1.03 will post the seller here.

Finally received Pioneer BDR-S13CX(MakeMKV show BDR-S13JX) drive and confirm the firmware 1.03 2022-7-26, I can use MakeMKV to rip UHD title no problem, here is the link.

When MakeMKV starts supporting FW 1.04 and 1.05 for the BDR-S13U-X, do you have any of these drives sitting on a shelf with FW higher than 1.03 just waiting to be sold, or did you only take in ones with FW 1.03 and below and are now completely out of stock for the BDR-S13U-X?

I've already got a Verbatim 43888 with the Pioneer BDR-UD04 drive inside, so picking up the XD08 wouldn't make much sense for me. However, the X13U-X is basically just the S13U-X but in an external enclosure, so I'll wait until you open up shop again and hope I'm able to grab one, though I'm pretty sure the competition will be quite fierce when there's not that many of them left out there.
