So i wasn't really sure were to put this. I'm pretty new to this.

I have Verbatim 43888 with Pioneer UD04. this is makemkv shows me. but to my problem. basically it just doesn't show me Blu Rays, just regular ones don't have and uhd ones. Makemkv shows "no disc inserted". Except out of like 10 discs and probably over 50 tries i got them to connect twice.
I've also checked the Disks itself on an old ps3 were they worked without an issue.
DVDs also work without an issue in it.

So i was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what it could be. Or if the drive is just bad/broken.

Most blu-ray drives have two different lasers in them. One is for CDs and DVDs. The other is for blu-rays and UHDs. Usually, when only one category of discs work in a drive that means the other laser is dead.

In your case if the blu-ray laser works only rarely, it might be the case that the optics for the lasers are dirty. You could try gently cleaning the laser optics with isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip, using a microfiber towel to dry. Do this twice, then try some blu-rays to see if the drive is working any better.

I tried cleaning it a bit. i think it improved maybe a bit. I did some more testing afterwards. but out of the 9 discs i tried, about 3-5 times each. only 4 picked up sometimes. 1 only picked up once.1 got picked up maybe 40% of the time. and a bit of a gamble and 5 just didn't pick up in any of the times i tried them. so it's probably just an issue with the player.
