You are far too lenient, Coop, I'd give them 24 hours then I'd delete it. If they are serious about flashing their drive for ripping UHD, they should be checking for updates every couple of hours. I know I would be!!

Really appreciate all the effort you put into replying and giving the tools needed for the drives.

I want to flash my pioneer 209DBK BLURAY DRIVE to read triple layer discs but in the comments I feel like they are bots asking me money by paypal (25 dollars) for a remote flasher without warranty and the truth that sounds weird, plus I do not like remote things and even the money for an unofficial firmware costs 1/4 of what my bluray burner cost, it seems crazy to me.

I have also seen that other bluray burners have public modded firmwares like the “All you need firmware pack”, but there are no pioneer models, plus there is a flasher that anyone can use that is public.

Hey, if you'd like to improve the ratio further, it would be awesome if you could help me flash my drive: P.S. since I have an exam next week, you can be sure that I will be checking in regularly in hopes of finding a distraction

I can assure you Billycar11 is not a bot. I've purchased a drive from him, as have many others. Nor is MartyMcNuts, who also sells drives, but on the other side of the world from where I live.

And you are correct, other brands of optical drives have publicly available firmware and tools to make them LibreDrive compatible. Pioneer drives, on the other hand, do not.

Billycar11 & MartyMcNuts (among others) help maintain access to those firmwares and tools used by this community. They also operate small businesses to service the specialized needs of this community. The modest fee Billycar11 charges to cross flash your Pioneer optical drive to a different model so that it gains functionality it didn't have before is quite small if you think about it.
Pioneer will not add that functionality to your existing drive for any amount of money. If you want a Pioneer drive with that functionality, Pioneer will make you purchase a whole new drive.
If you want to use the tools and firmware publicly available, then by all means, acquire one of the supported drives and use the freely available tools.

I also can sign that BillyCar11 and MartyMcNuts are not bots. I've buyed flashing tools from Billy in the past. Absolutely trustworthy and the tools are highly functional and the price is fair. Check it out where you can get this support for pioneer drives elsewhere.

See my actual Windows PC with my 4 Pioneer BDR-209's in it, which have all been flashed to become Pioneer BDR-S11 Drive's!!
If USD$25 is giving the "Pinch" then i guess you will have to "Stay with the Official Pioneer 209 Firmware which "Restricts Everything"
