I've had what seems to be a popular combo of a Pioneer 212V with a Vantec enclosure for just over a month. The drive is suddenly not recognized by Windows (even after restarting the drive and Windows). My question is 1) Has anyone had a similar experience with this hardware? 2) Is this more likely to be a problem with the drive or the enclosure? 3) Any known troubleshooting that I can do? (I'm just out of the 1 month return window).

I'm not sure what it is actually doing, but it got me back up and running immediately. So, if you are getting this error "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)", you might want to try this. Looking at that thread, it has worked for a lot of people.
