I've had an ASUS BW-16D1HT drive for 5 years with the 3.1MK firmware flashed. All of the sudden it stopped reading any discs. Within the last week I have ripped a couple 4k UHDs and several seasons of TV shows. I was halfway through season 4 of a show, and it stopped reading any disc. Neither Windows nor Make MKV show any disc in the drive. It's in a NexStar DX USB 3.0 enclosure and has been for a couple years now without issue.
I have tried:
Completely powering down the system and turning it back on
Removing and reinstalling make mkv
Re-flashing the 3.1 firmware
Flashing the 3.0.3 firmware
None of which have had any effect. It doesn't even sound like it's spinning up the disc anymore. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance
Hi I just wanted to add that I am experiencing the exact same issue with an Asus BW-16D1HT that ive had for about 6yrs
Mine is directly installed in my PC. The PC recognises the disk drive, and will open and close the drawer, but it cannot recognise any disks inserted, this started maybe 3 or 4 days ago.
Hope someone can help
