Archgon with BU40N no able to read any disks

After flashing to the DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK firmware on my new Archgon MD-8107-U3 (originally with the 1.02 firmware), I am no longer able to get any disks to load in the drive. I've tried UHD, Blu-ray, and normal CDs, and they all result in a click sound every couple of seconds, going on forever. I'm only able to get the disk to eject by holding the eject button for a few seconds, since the drive seems to get stuck in a trying to load state. I unfortunately never tried to read any disks with the factory firmware, so I don't know if the drive ever actually worked, or if I just managed to get a lemon.

I flashed using the newest version of the SDFtool and the "All You Need Firmware Pack (MartyMcNuts)", as described in viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896. I've tried installing the DE_LG_BU40N_1.00 firmware as well, but that doesn't make the drive any more functional than the 1.03-MK firmware did. When on the 1.03-MK firmware, MakeMKV is showing the firmware type as "Patched (microcode access re-enabled)", and Yes for "DVD all regions", "BD raw data read", "BD raw metadata read", and "Unrestricted read speed", so I believe that the firmware is flashed properly.

Your drive issues have nothing to do with the firmware. It's most likely faulty. Probably should have tested it before flashing it!

Return it as faulty.
