What drive for 3D Blue-Ray?

Hello,
My first post here!
I own several 3D Blue-Ray movies that are 1080p and want to rip them to a suitable file that will play on my Meta Quest 3 VR headset. However, I am not sure of the best drive to buy for this purpose, so hope other users on here could provide some advice?
I already own an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U external drive that was manufactured in 2018 and understand that it can be "flashed" if necessary, however I use this drive a lot for many other things, like backing up photos, so I am not very keen on messing with the original manufacturers firmware. So a second drive for ripping my 3D Blue-Rays seems a better option.
I am one day hoping that the new Meta HDMI Link app (that requires a video adapter card) will one day support the playing of 3D Blue-Ray discs when connected to a 3D Blue-Ray player, but currently it does not. Standard 1080p Blue-Rays play fine though, and to see them look cinema quality on a HUGE screen really makes me wonder if 4K is really is needed! If you do not already own a Meta Quest 3, I totally recommend one, its the best movie and gaming device that I have ever purchased! Movies on a TV just look ridiculous now.
Thanks in advance folks!
