WH16NS60 randomly downgraded, reflash didn't help...

Hi all,
This is very bizarre. My friend has a LG WH16NS60 that I flashed from 1.00 to 1.02, guided by this site. All was working fine for over a year and today he notified me that it seemingly randomly went back to 1.00 ...
Indeed, that's what MakeMKV reported when he sent me the screenshot. In fact, everything listed was exactly as it was prior to flashing. How this happened without him doing anything is beyond me.
I walked him step-by-step through the exact process I used to successfully upgrade before but unfortunately it still no longer supports 4K. The odd thing is, MakeMKV lists the drive info as successfully upgraded to 1.02, all enabled/patched, etc.
So basically, it went from successfully upgraded a year ago, to randomly reverted, to (supposedly) successfully reflashed yet not truly supporting 4K.
What on Earth do I do?
I appreciate your help,
Thanks

What do you mean by being sure it didn't happen? What specific drive info and do you mean a screenshot of something?

the drive laser probably died then they reflashed it trying to make it work again lg/asus lasers die all the time this is why pioneers are the recommended UHD drive

Ohhh, that sucks. Okay, I'll post the info when he wakes. He lives somewhere else and is asleep now.

Here's the screenshot. Is there something else we can try first before resorting to it being the laser?

Ugh, I didn't realize the screenshot i just posted is the old one, prior to us trying to reflash. Do you need the new screenshot, showing 1.02 FW?

You can try cleaning the laser but it's very likely dead
