Hi all,

I have had the ASUS BW-16D1X-U drive for about 8 months, used when I first purchased it and then put it on a shelf. Took it back out to burn some media and noticed its loud when burning or even reading media. Is this normal, curious what others have noticed.

I also realized the drive can be flashed, so will definitely do that, but want to make sure the noise thing is normal, otherwise I'll exchange via my extended warranty.

Thanks all for your comments in advance.
