Pioneer BDR-S09XLT LibreDrive ready but not ripping UHD-discs

Post by rg_63 »

This is my first post in this forum.
Before posting I tried to find a solution for my problem by reading many topics in this forum.
But unfortunately I was not successful and could not find a solution.

I like to start ripping my UHD Bluray collection to my Windows-PC.
I have a Pioneer BDR-S09XLT drive.

Here is the output from makemkv:

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-S09
Revision: 1.31
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2015-05-25
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 20

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8600
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.31/ID43
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

No disc inserted

But I am not able to rip UHD-discs.
MakeMKV says that there is no disc inserted.
In other topics in this forum I read that it is likely that the drive must be cross flashed.
But I also read that there is no official public flashing tool for Pioneer drives.

I am not sure what I have to do to get my drive working for ripping UHD-BluRays.

Your firmware does not support UHD ripping. The drive itself may, with updated-to-after-UHD-was-introduced firmware.

Expect a private message from one of the people who can help you with that.

Please post again. Most people asking for something like this just disappear.

You need to post your Makemkv info to check if it‘s possible to flash this drive.

Firmware is locked in your drive, not up- or side-gradable.
