Sealed Pioneer Blu-ray firmware

Is there a way to check the firmware version on a Pioneer Drive when it's still factory-sealed? I found a couple for sale locally (not a retail store like BestBuy, etc.), but they obviously will not let me open and install them to see from the computer manager.

if the build date on the box is before 12/22 you should be ok if its a UHD drive

That does make sense, but I have seen on other places where people have MFD in mid 2023 that they could flash. Is the MFD just because it would be "almost" guaranteed, and anything after is a crap shoot? Did places like Amazon purge their stock, or would if be ok to play roulette with amazon and Amazon returns

Your not going to have any luck on Amazon except for a 212.
Don't forget I have the newest Gen pioneers with old fw tested to rip UHD available right now see below.
