Drive check please for 4k

Post by 8o8ert »

Hi everyone. Is this drive still one to get for ripping 4k discs?

Verbatim 43888

Ive done most of my DVD collection a couple of HD Blurays but would like a drive that will do my 4k movies. I mistakingly purchased a cheap bluray drive and it wont even do some of my HD Blurays.

It seems the 43888 (and the Pioneer BDR-UD04 inside it) isn't as good as it once was: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=148090#p148090
