Can my drive rip UHD (Verbatim 43888)?

Post by ph0enix »

I recently purchased the verbatim 43888 drive and can't seem to be able to rip my UHD discs, am I doing something wrong? I popped in the standard bluray version of the movie and that seems to work just fine.

What errors are you getting? We cannot guess based on what you've posted.

The drive seems to be power hungry. So make sure it gets enough. Which UHD movie are you trying to rip? Copy and paste the text from the messages Makemkv produces. This drive reads UHDs!

Sorry about that! I could've sworn I attached a jpg with the error code. The error code I am getting is below.

MakeMKV v1.17.5 darwin(x64-release) started
Optical drive "BD-RE PIONEER BD-RW BDR-UD04 1.14 CGDL110775WLd" opened in OS access mode.
Downloading latest SDF to /Users/elsienolasco/Library/MakeMKV ...
Automatic SDF downloading is disabled or failed.
Using LibreDrive mode (v01.0 id=489CDFD6D392)
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Downloading latest HK to /Users/jake/Library/MakeMKV ...
Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed.
Saved AACS dump file as /Users/jake/Library/MakeMKV/MKB20_v72_Rogue_One-_A_Star_Wars_Story_81FB.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

Your problem is in red above. Something is stopping MakeMKV from downloading the UHD hashed keys. Did you check the box to allow MakeMKV internet access in preferences?
Cheers :D
