I've been using this drive for a while since my last LG drive died, it works fine for BD 1080p and UHD rips, but it seems slow.
for any given rip it floats around 2.6 to 2.8x read rate, by my understanding its suppose to be hitting north of 5x.
I've tried firmwares 1.00, 1.03, and 1.04 for similar results. I've tried the drive with it's included cable, as well as a usb-C to micro B cable.
System has a ryzen 5900x and im ripping to a sata ssd
not really sure what else to try at this point, if someone has some insight I'd appreciate it.

Clean your discs before you rip.

Clean your discs before you rip.
The discs I rip are almost always brand new releases, no scratches and perfectly clean

Sometimes even new discs need to be cleaned.
Damp lint free microfiber cloth and dry with another works on back discs you can use soap without any particles in it.

I just did a test on a new disc, i cleaned it with a microfiber cloth and water and ripped it again. The drive was able to hit 5.5x, I'm honestly amazed at the difference it made, the disc looked clean but on first rip in only hit up to 3.1x
thank you both for your assistance
