Returning Old makemv User

Hello folks, I have been getting back into the scene of backing up my purchased UHD content and would really appreciate if someone could give me a quick summary of what is the best recommended UHD drive currently since my makemkv is now reporting errors stating my drive is going bad. It was able to backup 2 out of 3 disc after several computer restarts, so I definitely think the optical reader is going bad since I also bought it used with the firmware installed.
Any recommendations?
