I'm new here and haven't been able to find info or update these drives (I have 2) that I pulled out of ASUS enclosures. I am using eSata enclosures from NextStar.

I am attaching info from MakeMKV.

Thanks for any help. Tried to search and got no results.

What reason do you need to "update" this drive? It already supports everything MakeMKV can get out it, and the latest Pioneer updates are killing the drives for ripping.

Because it doesn't handle 4K. I've already tried.

Hello, Has there been an update for this drive support that I missed? It will not handle UHD at the moment.
And yes, I have been searching the form for this. And also, sorry if I come off as rude. Its just me. I get teased about it at work. they call me Data and keep me on 3rd level support, far away from the customer.
If possible, I would like to open this drive. Wish I knew how to alter the BIN files.

Either way, the drive info in question is :

Drive Information
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: E111
Firmware date: 2017-12-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8601
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: E111/ID76
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Thanks for your PM. I started to backup an UHD. The Read rate is sticking constantly at 17.1M/s [4.0]. is this the maximum the drive can do or are there settings i have to tweak. the Source size is about 86G, which implies a triple layer Blu Ray.

All Pioneers are limited to 4x for UHDs.
