Just bought a WH16NS60 - wanting to flash it

Post by CrazyWookiee »

It came with 1.03 installed. Looking around, I need to put 1.02 on it. I plan on going with 1.02 MK. Is there a flash tool that works with Win 7 or Linux?

Thanks. I downloaded the pack that is mentioned here. I assume 1.03 is the latest MK version. I tried using it and 1.02. The flasher acts like everything worked properly. Nothing seems to have changed in MakeMKV though. It still says 1.03 even when I supposedly flash 1.02.

Does MakeMKV report this?

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Original (unpatched) or ... (patched) depending on version
Firmware version: 1.0x
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

If so, you are good to go.

It does not. Firmware says original. Where you put yes or enabled all say possible with patched firmware.

Enc
In SDFTool, check the 'enc?' box before 'Start'.

When I try doing it with "enc?" checked, I get an error saying "command produced error code 0x8f056103."

You should first flash 1.03 MK with "enc". Then - if successful - flash 1.02 in a second step.

I finally got it to work. Forgot I left a disc in the drive and that was causing the error for some reason. I'm now on 1.02. I'm now ripping my first UHD disc. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I just bought the LG WH16NS60 and it had the 1.03 firmware on it also. I successfully flashed to mk 1.02, but need it to be 1.0.
So i tried flashing directly to 1.0 and when flashing it showed everything went through successfully, but makemkv showed it still as 1.02.
I then read that side loading was a successful way in downgrading and proceeded to flash ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014 (successful 100%),
but makemkv still read 1.02. Rebooted and tried flashing with DE_LG_WH16NS60_1.00 (successful 100%) and checked makemkv status and still it read 1.02.

Not sure what I"m doing wrong if anything? If you could please help or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it?

Once flashed don't check "enc".
