Is this blu-ray drive UHD friendly?

Im looking to buy a LG BU40N blu-ray drive, which is on the list of recommended drives to use for ripping UHD blu-ray with MakeMKV. However, in my country i was only able to find a “regular” blu-ray version of the LG BU40N model, without official UHD blu-ray support.
Has anyone ever seen this version before? Would I be able to flash it and use it to rip UHD blu-rays with MakeMKV?
