Pioneer BDR-213JBK

Post by Mikele74 »

I have purchased this new ultra hd bluray drive from Amazon . Need guidance about its performace regarding ripping .
I wonder if it is capable of burning 100gb UHD and if they are then seen by the Sony UBP-X800M2 player
thanks

Pioneer optical drives have the best reputation for burning. So, if any drive could successfully burn a 100GB optical disc, the Pioneer could.

Your Sony player, the x800m2, has a reputation as being a very capable player. It probably isn't necessary to burn discs to play movies on it. Putting proper rips on a USB hard drive should be enough.

The BDR-213JBK seems to be a new Japan only model. Does MakeMKV allow you to rip a UHD with it?

I have yet to receive, I expect to have it within 10 days so I will do some tests and write here to share it.

I'm interested in getting one of these drives as well, have you received yours yet? Does it work well for you?

yes, received and that's fine hasn't burned a BD-R but I haven't tried to rip yet as it's not an operation I do. But to burn BDs that's fine!

Are there any news/infos when the 213 series drives will be available in Europe? It's weird that there doesn't seem to be anything at all yet, like if there'll be 213E/M or 213D drives without UHD compatibility.
