Pioneer BDR-XD07UHD
Does Pioneer BDR-XD07UHD work with MakeMKV and DVDFab out of the box? Does MakeMKV need to be installed for it to work? Thanks

It should work for all disc types with MakeMKV out of the box provided the drive model and firmware version are in this list: viewtopic.php?p=118751#p118751
The drive may also work with DVDFab for HD BLU-RAY / DVD / CD only. It will not work for UHD.

Why does my LG WH16Ns60 work for UHD on DVDFab but the Pioneer won't?

Because, as far as I can tell, DVDFab have not come up with a Pioneer UHD compatible method yet...
