Got the new drive working. An LG WH16NS60 1.03 and it rips 4K like a dream. No problems.

The problem is it sounds like its grinding itself apart. Loud plastic gear noises.

Do I take it apart and put some lithium grease on the works or just learn to tolerate it?

That's pretty funny, I doubt that's a good sign!

My LG, WH14NS40 makes some quick "grind" sound on boot but that's the only time.
