new user seeking help Pioneer BDR-XD07TUHD

Post by stsxt05 »

Hello

I have a new BDR-XD07TUHD for Christmas connected to a MacBook Air M1 via its thunderbolt 3 port,im running Monteray MacOS 12.2 I have installed makemkv but still cannot play UHD discs, I dont want to copy, rip just play my discs ! but the drive doesn’t seem to be able to despite advertising implying otherwise. Before I send this drive back to Amazon can anyone please confirm any software that will play successfully please? thank you in advance Steve

MakeMKV cannot help you with a Pioneer drive. Pioneer drives currently can only be used to play UHD with OFFICIALLY LICENSED UHD SOFTWARE, and even then, the new changes at Intel mean you have to use an older version of the software.
