Need a confirmation, please

Hello Guys,
I'm sorry to bother you with this question but I get very conflicting advice and reply when I ask. So I would like to get expert advice ;-)
I own a BU-40n Blu Ray drive.
MakeMKV report this :

Code: Select all

Informations lecteur
Nom du lecteur SE : /dev/sr0
Fabricant : HL-DT-ST
Produit : BD-RE BU40N
Révision : A100
Numéro de série : KZDH1DC1211
Date micrologiciel : 2117-01-02 11:59
Marqueurs d'encryptage bus : 1F
Version AACS la plus haute : 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 0.A100D
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
This drive is reported as DVD All Regions enabled.
Does that mean that it can FOREVER read any DVD I toss at it ? Or will it be limited somewhere in the future (depending on how many DVD outside my region I toss at it ) ?
Many many thanks in advance for answering this question !
Have a very bright day and stay safe !

OK, so the drive won't lock on a region, and "no chance" an "upgrade" change this.

MakeMKV should remove any region coding when ripping. Just don't directly play any original discs and you will be fine.
Cheers :D
