Blue Ray Rip Speed

MOt of hte drives i see are 6 or 8x. are there any UHD friendly drives faster in read speeds?

You looking for CLAIMS of faster speed, or actually being able to ACHIEVE faster speeds?

with the speed unlock on a WH16NS60 you can rip at 12x

I've only ever reached 12x rip speeds with single layer discs, fwiw.

i seen it on dual layer discs. did you do the speed unlock? you have to do it in the registry

right the current drive i have is limited by it's usb 2.0 interface. I ma going to be purchasing one from the person that sells pre-flashed drives..just wanted to make sure i can get faster speeds if i am going to spend the money..:)

I'm not running Windows, so I don't have a registry. I'm running the MK firmware on my WH16NS60 drive, as well as a BU40N (via SATA, no USB). Multi-layer discs always top out in the 6x-7x range for me.

i flashed a firmware i found on here..the BD read speeds are now as fast as its USB 2.0 interface will allow..:) I'm having another issue..but i'll start a new thread on that.
