Asus BW-16D1HT and UHD discs

Hello,
I own an Asus BW-16D1HT drive, and I've purchased a set of UHD discs, which I haven't received yet, because they're still in the mail.
As I understand, the drive can not rip a UHD disc out of the box, if it's running firmware version 3.10, which mine is, but there schould be a method to downgrade it to a version that can. I have never tried a process like this before, so how can I do this? I'm using Windows on a labtop, and I'm using the drive through and sata to usb connection. Is it still possible this way?
Also, as a side note, what would happen if I tried to rip a UHD disc with the corrent firmware? Would it only rip some parts of the disc, or would it not be able to read the disc at all? I really am only interested in UHD discs because of the better audio, so if Make MKV could still read the audio, but just not the video part, I wouldn't need to downgrade at all.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards:
