HL-DT-ST (BD-RE) BH16NS40

Post by kuro2K20 »

Hi, I have recovered the LG burn drive of my friend.
The model is BH16NS40.

Microsoftware date : 2114-03-26 11:15

LibreDrive information
Drive platform : MT1939
Firmware type : Original (Unpatched)
Firmware version : 1.03

So, is it possible with my model to rip UHD discs or I have, again, no lucky ?

No. Drive platform needs to be MT1959. This is MT1939.

It's still crazy !!!!

I don't understand why no one can make them compatible...

Is it a question of hardware too ? Not just software ?

The hardware in it is too old and will NEVER be UHD capable. For UHD capability, it must be platform MT1959. Compatible drives have manufactured dates after October 2015.
Cheers :D

Simple, check the Ultimate UHD Drives Guide for recommended drives, see which drives you can get locally, then buy one and flash it. If you don't want to do that, then there are sellers on this forum that can do all the work for you.
