Play UHD directly to your TV, or through software?
Ripping, or just playing?

with your specs you should be able to do it officially but if you dont use the igpu then you need to do it unofficially and for that i recommend makemkvs integration with vlc or mpc with mad vr

There's a Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide post that's kept up-to-date. (
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634) Billycar11 even has it linked in his signature.
It has a list of drives recommended for ripping. If you want to play UHDs directly from the optical discs with official software, then you'll need to buy a UHD official drive.
Check out the drive guide… it has answers to most of your questions.

yes but trust me dont buy one for that reason it is extremely buggy even if you meet the requirements sometimes it does not work.
if you want an official one fine but dont buy it just for official playback be open to unofficial playback on pc its nearly the same

I recommend the BU40N it's an official drive.
It won't lose any quality.
Yes you can play them in powerdvd after ripping
I sell pre flashed and tested BU40Ns below if you want one
