BU40N not reading UHD disk after flashing

My first attempt at flashing and then ripping has hit a problem and I'm hoping for some help. I flashed my new drive and have ripped a regular blu ray but makemkv is unable to read my 4k discs (it tries to read then ejects). Do I need to flash to a different firmware?
