Drive can't read discs! New Drive? Or fixable?

Hello there! I'm new to the forum. Hopefully you guys can help. I seem to find conflicting info on this drive since its so old.
I have a WH14NS40 (ver 1.0 manufactured 2012) I thought I was flashing this drive back to OEM 1.02 (it wasn't lol) and now It can read discs.
If this drive can be dosflashed and someone could help me, that would be amazing.
Any help would be greatl;y appreciated
