Best way to flash a ASUS DW-160D1HT thanks in advance

Dear Friends,

Black Friday (along with a HDTV that committed suicide two days prior) has dragged me kicking and screaming into the 4K world.

My HTPC has an ASUS DW-160D1HT. My reading tells me this a UHD friendly drive but needs flashing. What is a concise guide somebody can recommend on how to do this?

I am not timid around technology; I work in IT. That said have read a lot of contradictory information and want to make sure I am doing the right thing and not bricking my drive.

Thanks in advance for any help anybody can offer!

Peace,

Orson

I assume you mean ASUS BW-16D1HT?? What firmware version is on the ASUS drive and how old is it? If it is newer than 'late 2015' and MakeMKV says it is MT1959, then you should be good to go. If using windows OS, just use one of the windows flashers, the easiest these days is the SDFtool Flasher. Links below:

MartyMcNuts that worked very well! Thanks for your help!

It failed the first time and then I took the disc out of the drive and reopened as administrator, from the
“Run as administrator” but then it worked great.

Thanks for being concise and helpful! Have a wonderful holliday and years end!

Peace,

Orson
