UHD drive capable of correct CD audio extraction

I've learned that the LG BU40N is the way to go in terms of hardware durability and UHD, but also that it is pretty flawed when it comes to the extraction of audio CDs.
You can find reports that EAC on Windows complains about the drive's caching method and that cdparanoia on Linux can't handle it at all.

Is there another drive that combines UHD support, hardware durability and CDDA extraction?

I was planning to replace a 7 year old BR writer (which already wasn't that good in CDDA anymore) and a 13 year old DVD writer (which had perfect audio extraction back in the day), but might as well decide to keep the 13 year old DVD writer when current drives aren't able to cope with audio CDs anymore.

i use DBPoweramp to rip mostly new CD's and a few used CD's . I also have a LG BU40N which does double duty as movie ripper and CD ripper. seems to work OK, with Accurate Rip and even HDCD's. I use the vantec enclosure, on mac os x.
