Hello @all,
unfortunately I also get this error message when I try to downgrade my new internal desktop drive ==> ASUS BC-12H2FT / firmware 3.12 to firmware 3.00 in the package.

It is a fresh Win11 installation, the app was started with a local admin user.
With Win10 before same procedure / same error.

With kind regards
Tommy

Hello @all,

the solution was not to use the DE firmware but the MK firmware version.

==> DE firmware cannot downgrade from 3.12 | DE_ASUS_BC-12D2HT_3.00.bin
==> MK firmware successfully downgraded from 3.12 | ASUS-BC-12B1ST_b-3.11-WM00300-211902271321.bin

MK firmware version for ASUS_BC-12D2HT in version 3.11 works, first UHD BD-ROM read successfully.

After that I did not try the DE version at all.

with kind regards
Tommy

Hello everyone,

recently came arcross this LibreDrive thing. Then I saw that apprently my drive is LibreDrive possible. Then came across the SDFtool to flash the firmware, but whenever I try to use, it just throws an Error (0x82052400). I tried searching online but couldn't find anything about it...
So I was wondering If anyone here has any idea what the error means or what maybe I could do about it?

I tried "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin" same error.
I tried "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142.bin" same error.
I aslo tried "DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin" same error.

Tried encryption on/off same error.

I'm kinda out off ideas..any help is welome. Much thanks.

I should add that it is an external Drive

Would that recommendation be referring to the encrypted process or loading a MK firmware version.
If it is the MK firmware version, could you specify which one to use?

Thanks for your help.

Both. Your issue is you are trying to flash directly from an encrypted firmware to WH16NS40 1.02 which can't be done. As per the guide, any desktop drive with encrypted firmware should be flashed to WH16NS60 1.02-MK first (which removes encryption and re-enables firmware downgrading). Then if you don't want to use the NS60 1.02-MK firmware, you can flash to something else.
Cheers :D

Thanks so much marty mcnuts for making this tool, it worked great. Just confirming I was using asus bw-16dht inside a vantec nexstar DX2 (this is the newer one with 3amp power supply, not the older DX 2A supply) plugged into my front header usb 3.2 gen 1 (5gbps) on my B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 (rev. 1.1)mobo. made a dump of the original firmware 3.10 and flashed the MK 3.10 firmware, MKV recognizes the microcode reenabled so I'm off to leearn how to rip and reencode! I don't even know why I'm doing this, I make $8,000/ month driving trucks, I could buy like every bluray and dvd ever made, plus 9anime has all the cartoons I usually watch anyways.

Rip, yes, but why reencode?

I think you'll find that MakeMKV needs a disc from which to rip something...... this pretty much implies that you need to buy the disc first.

Greetings all!
I thought this would be a snap but doing something wrong ^_^

When trying to dump firmware, the file dumps as a .tar file, if I extract the tar file should I select one of the following .bin files to recover? Attempting the recovery method.

Issue of course is getting the No disc inserted error.

You didn't read the guide
Needs to be 2016+
You can recover select recover and follow the prompts and then flash your old fw not the backup the backup is useless pretty much
