Hi everyone,

First, thank you for your hard, great work.
Also, apologies for my total newbie-ness and my less-than-bright English.

I'm trying to flash my Asus BW-16D1HT drive, using the SDFTool Flasher GUI, and I have a few questions before I even click "Start":

a) It looks like the installed firmware version for the drive is 3.10. Should I assume it is an appropriate version to start flashing?

b) If yes, and if I understand well, I should patch that firmware to 3.10MK, shouldn't I? That is, selecting "WRITE firmware" and the right MK firmware, then click "START"?

c) From the GUI, the firmware doesn't seem to be encrypted. Should I keep it that way?

Any hint would be greatly appreciated!

a) The most important thing is that the Makemkv GUI status shows drive platform M1959. I assume it is as you have firmware 3.10 on it.

b) Yes

c) ASUS firmware is not encrypted. All newer LG firmwares are. "Enc" should be left unchecked therefore.

I guess you mean "MT1959", don't you?

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased an LG BP60NB10 which came from factory with 1.02 firmware. It actually would read UHD discs but I was getting an "error while reading" message when using DVDFab. I figured it needed to be flashed. I have previously flashed a WH16NS40 that came from factor with 1.05 and had no issues. I used the flasher tool (v1.2.0) but something tells me the flash didn't work. After the flash, the description of the firmware in "Please select a drive" didn't change. It still says "K - HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BP60NB10_1.02_212005070935_SIM03LC991356" and the MK firmware is "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935". Additionally, I am still getting the "error while reading" message in DVDFab on every disc and they are in nearly flawless condition. I did select "WRITE" and "ENC" when I tried the flash. I am not sure what to try next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Umm I don't know the bp60 firmware that's works with dvdfab there might not be any you may need to flash to BU40N 1.00
And if that's a nb12 drive you might have some issues

Billy, does it seem to you that the flash was successful? Should the description of the firmware have changed?

Another thing that is strange is I was attempting to go to firmware 1.00MK. I figured once 1.02MK was installed, all I had to do was another flash and it should work. I first tried without checking "ENC", it didn't work. I tried by checking ENC and it still didn't work. I feel like I am missing something here.

Yeah it's flash and will work with makemkv yeah the not flashing to nb 10 firmware is a nb 12 follow mine or Marty's sequence for nb52 stuff but do it with nb 12 stuff basically check recovery or refresh the current one with bootloader and from then on you can flash whatever you want.

Is there another location to download the latest SDFtool Flasher? I downloaded the one from page 1 of this posting and it looks crunched and is impossible to read. I even tried changing my display settings and it didn't do anything for the flasher.
