Flashed LG BH16NS55, leaves a question...

I used 'BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched' with DE_flash_HL-DT-ST_BD-RE_BH16NS55_1.02.bin from Downgrade Enabled Firmware V.2 folder.
Then used ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified) with DE_LG_BH16NS55_1.02. Success! (I found the YouTube video very helpful).
Do I gain anything further by using this file 'HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BH16NS55-1.04-NM01701-211901041342' from the 'mk-firmware-pack-20200415.zip', as that is an update from 'mk-firmware-pack-20190319'.

I think the makemkv program is excellent so far in the trial period and I'm considering a purchase, but no sure if it does accept paypal payments.

PayPal says you can't buy MakeMKV using them. They consider it a piracy tool. They'll let you buy pirated disks from SE Asia on eBay, but they draw the virtue-signal line at letting you rip your own disks.

Woodstock,
Thank you for the reply. Might be a good idea to take the their logo off the makemkv website then, to avoid new users like me raising a question about it, if Paypal take a dim view of what the program does.
Much appreciation.

Unfortunately, I don't think Mike has control over that, because the logo is on the payment processor's site. THEY can take PayPal for most customers, but not for MakeMKV.
Maybe Mike can talk to them again.

Woodstock,
Thanks for the previous reply.
Would you have any insight about:- Do I gain anything further by using this file 'HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BH16NS55-1.04-NM01701-211901041342' from the 'mk-firmware-pack-20200415.zip', as that is an update from 'mk-firmware-pack-20190319'?
Given that I've already done used 'ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified)' with 'DE_LG_BH16NS55_1.02.bin'

For that, you'll have to rely on the experts of UHD drives. I don't know much about any drive I haven't tried myself, and I only have two 4K disks that I bought to be able to test things.

The best firmware for this drive is the ASUS BW16-D1HT 3.10 MK firmware.

I haven't done anything further yet with Coopervid' recommendation.
My drive works very well, as is. Why would ASUS BW16-D1HT 3.10 MK firmware incapacitate the burners ability to burn discs if I used it?

Thank you Billycarr11,
Why is WH16NS60 1.02mk better than DE_LG_BH16NS55_1.02? (that would be cross-flashing) yes?

It's better because it is faster and fixes the sleep bug

Please be aware: If you also want to use ANYDVD it will not work with the 16NS60 firmware. Then you should stay with the ASUS.
